Restoration
Old photos hold precious memories, but time can take its toll. Whether it's fading, cracks, water damage, or missing pieces, I carefully restore each image with respect for its history and an eye for detail. My goal is to bring your treasured photos back to life, so they can be shared, displayed, and remembered for generations to come.
Restoration of a 1936 Award-Winning Photograph by Leo Pavelle
This photograph, originally printed from a negative in 1936 using traditional darkroom techniques, was showcased in several exhibitions across the United States. The photographer, Leo Pavelle, was a notable figure in the photographic community during that era.
Decades later, his grandson, Roger Pavelle, came across the original 11" × 14" print along with some lower-quality copies. Unfortunately, the original negative was nowhere to be found. Wishing to share high-quality reproductions of this cherished image with other family members, Roger entrusted me with the task of digitally restoring the photograph. I meticulously scanned the original print and performed detailed digital enhancements to preserve and revitalize the image, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.
This photo of the back of the original print shows many of the exhibitions it was shown at throughout the late 1930s.
Restoration of a Damaged Family Photograph
This cherished family photograph had suffered significant damage due to water damage which had left it with black album paper adhered to it. Through meticulous digital restoration, I carefully repaired the physical damages, reconstructed missing details, and corrected the color balance to revive the photograph's original warmth and sharpness. The restored image now preserves the family's legacy, allowing future generations to connect with their heritage.
